We resolve disputes in the following fields: contract stability for players, transfers, payments, disciplinary proceedings, the right to organise public events, etc. We have represented clients in cases against the bodies of the Polish Football Association, cases heard by common courts and public administration bodies, as well as cases involving international football organisations—FIFA and UEFA.

Brief case summary: representing the interests of a Polish football club in a dispute with a foreign football club.

A foreign football player terminated the contract with his club. The club was deemed responsible for the termination due to the significant arrears in the payments. Before the football player resolved the dispute with his former club, a Polish club signed a contract with the football player and temporarily registered the player at FIFA.

The foreign club sued the football player and the Polish football club for damages on the basis of joint and several liability.

Amount in litigation: approx. PLN 2 million. Case status: the FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber and CAS dismissed the complaint.

Brief case summary: representing a Polish football club in proceedings related to the offensive behaviour of its football fans. The organiser was deemed liable failing to ensure the safety of mass events.

Disciplinary proceedings were held by international football authorities (UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body and the Appeals Body; CAS).

Further administrative proceedings concerning the ban on further mass events were held before Polish public administration bodies, Voivodship Administrative Courts and the Supreme Administrative Court.

Amount in litigation (including lost benefits): approx. PLN 10 million. Case status: the decisions reached by UEFA, CAS and the judgements of the administrative courts defined the scope of the club’s liability for such events and largely dismissed the allegations against the club.
